Championship Manager Mailinglists & Newsgroups

Another good way to talk about CM3 are mailinglists. As a member of such a list, you can reach several hundred CM3 fans all around the world with your messages. The biggest one is the "Official Championship Manager Fans Mailing List" with more than 600 subscribers and about 40 messages per day (ok, at the moment there's not that much traffic). You can choose... a) to get every message a few seconds after it's submitted, b) to get one big mail per day containing everything that happened that day or c) to get no email and only to read the messages on the Topica homepage.

To join this list just click http://www.topica.com/lists/champman-L and follow the steps described there!

A useful (& at the moment even better) alternative to mailinglists are newsgroups. Maybe you haven't heard that much about newsgroups at all yet - but it's quite easy to enter them. All you need is a "newsreader" like e.g. Forté Free Agent or Outlook Express from Microsoft, which usually comes together with the Internet Explorer.

At the moment there are two newsgroups concentrating on CM:
alt.games.champ-man - for the general discussion of anything CM-related
alt.binaries.games.champ-man - here you're allowed to attach files to your mails, a good way to share screenshots, tactic files or good-player-shortlists with other ChampManiacs.

It's depending on your newsserver, if you're able to enter those newsgroups. If you have some bad luck like me, the binaries group is not available. If you've even more bad luck, it's also possible that both newsgroups aren't available on your newsserver...
